There have been many rumors regarding the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. Apple has prepared a new design with slightly curved edges and a new titanium frame for the Pro model. Additionally, there are reports that Dynamic Island and USB-C will be added to the full portfolio. But out of all these rumours, there are two that are of particular interest.
What the iPhone 15 Pro rumors claim
Since the Pro models are Apple's top-tier smartphones, let's concentrate on them. If the rumors are true, the iPhone 15 Pro will feature a slightly updated look with rounded edges and slimmer screen borders. The shape and size of the phone won't be significantly different from those of existing iPhones aside from that. The display will continue to use the same Dynamic Island and technological components as the iPhone 14 Pro.
New haptic volume buttons were rumored, however it appears Apple has given up on the idea and delayed its plans for the 2024 models. Even still, reports persist that the mute switch will change into a "Action Button" like the one Apple Watch Ultra debuted last year.
Additionally, there are speculations about larger batteries, a new periscope lens for the Pro Max variant, new colors, and USB-C replacing the Lightning port.
Some people are not happy with the iPhone 14 Pro Max
They upgrade their iPhones every year, so they're used to not being overly excited about new models because the changes are less and less noticeable. That said, from the perspective of someone who previously owned the iPhone 13 Pro Max, some would say the iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of the most disappointing upgrades.
While they think Dynamic Island is great, we've come to the conclusion that it's more of a gimmick. However, that doesn't really affect how individual people use the iPhone. And we believe that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is in some ways worse than the 13 Pro Max. And that's where two important rumors about the iPhone 15 Pro Max related to the camera and battery come into play.
Many say that the iPhone 14 Pro Max battery is very bad. "I can use my iPhone 13 Pro Max all day and still have battery for the next day. On the other hand, iPhone 14 Pro Max requires at least two recharges every day." The biggest proof for this is the fact that Apple has publicly touted the iPhone 14 Plus as having the longest battery life, not the 14 Pro Max.
The battery size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is similar to the iPhone 13 Pro Max (4352mAh vs. 4323mAh). However, since the iPhone 14 Pro Max was the first to feature an Always-On Display, it uses up a lot more battery life than its predecessors.
We also think that part of this is due to subpar software optimization (iOS 16 isn't such a fantastic update) and the A16 Bionic's underwhelming performance improvement over the A15.
About camera
Since we use our phone's camera a lot, we always prefer to have an iPhone. But in recent years, the competition has improved their cameras, while Apple has stuck to the basics, sometimes sacrificing flawless design. Apple, we need settings to disable Smart HDR.
But the lack of a powerful zoom on the iPhone is something that most people really don't like. Since the release of the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple has spent money on a telephoto lens for increased optical zoom. Having this level of magnification on a phone at the time was truly revolutionary. However, over time, rival companies made investments in technology that would significantly improve optical zoom on mobile devices.
Over the past few years, businesses like Google and Samsung have been selling phones with periscope lenses that allow up to 10x optical magnification. This phone includes digital zoom capabilities that can magnify up to 100 times when combined with AI. This iPhone camera feature is really turning a lot of people off as airplane observation fans.
Both of these problems can probably be solved with the iPhone 15 Pro Max
New rumors claim that Apple will increase the battery in all versions of the iPhone 15. The battery for the Pro Max model is expected to increase from 4352mAh to 4852mAh, or around 10%. With the A17 processor, the first to be produced using 3nm technology, the battery life can once again surpass that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
A new periscope lens for enhanced optical zoom is apparently coming to the iPhone 15 Pro Max (and Pro Max models only). While the zoom range of the new camera is still unknown, analysts estimate the zoom range to be between 5x and 6x.
How do you think? What can we anticipate from the upcoming iPhones?
